Why Does Afghanistan Win So Often? (Analysis)
This section is my own analysis. It is not a quote from a named expert.
Three things stand out in the Afghanistan National Cricket Team Vs Zimbabwe National Cricket Team Stats:
- Spin wins matches. Rashid, Mujeeb, Nabi and Ghazanfar have taken big hauls in ODIs and T20Is. Zimbabwe’s middle order has often collapsed against them.
- Strong opening stands. The 191-run stand in December 2024 is the best example. Afghanistan’s openers set the platform, and the middle order finishes it.
- Zimbabwe are better in long formats. Tests give them time. Their two wins in 2021 and 2025 came when their bowlers hit a good length and their top order was patient.
To add a real expert opinion, you could ask a former Zimbabwe or Afghanistan player for a short quote.
